Cheers to 2008!

nye-2008-2

Happy New Year’s Eve, everyone!  This has been an incredible year in many ways, most obviously because of the birth of my son.  It has also been a year of significant growth for me in the kitchen, and I really think that this blog deserves a lot of the credit for that.   I am constantly inspired by all of the fantastic food blogs that I read, and I in turn hope to create a blog that inspires my readers.  I truly appreciate my readers and I hope I can continue to provide you with a wide variety of delicious recipes!

When I first contemplated writing a New Year’s post, I thought of doing a “best of” from each month.  However, that did not go well.  I had some awesome months this year when I was on maternity leave, and I cooked and baked up a storm – trying to choose the best things from those months was agonizing.  So instead, I will do this a bit differently.  Over the next few days I will post my favorite items from the year in various categories.  I have decided to start with cakes because I had many cakes that were visually impressive and incredibly tasty.  Don’t miss them!

Best Cakes of 2008
Strawberry Mirror Cake
Perfect Party Cake
Reese’s Cup Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake
Pumpkin Cake with Butterscotch Filling
Cookies and Cream Cake
21st Birthday Cake
Pina Colada Cake

And just for fun, a picture of the BEST thing I made in 2008 🙂
